Cheppankilangu varuval

Ingredients

Cheppankilangu  1/4 kg
Tamarind  lemon size
Turmeric  1/4 tsp
Chilli powder  2 tbsp
Salt oil    as needed
Ginger garlic paste  1 tbsp (optional)

To temper

Fennel seeds  1/4 tsp
Mustard seeds  1/2 tsp
Curry leaves  few

Peel the yam and cut into 1/2 inch cubes.
Extract tamarind juice, add turmeric and salt, mix well.
Boil the yam in mixed tamarind extract.
Let them half cook and drain the excess water.
Marinate the yam with ginger garlic paste, salt, and chili powder, set aside for 15-20 mins.
Heat the oil pan, add tempering items, once tempered add the yam and saute well with low flame.
Saute it until it gets roasted.
Once roasted switch off the flame and serve it.

You can have it with curd rice,lemon rice,morkozhambu etc.
