Kuzhi paniyaram

Yet another interesting breakfast we had Kuzhi paniyaram with Four kinds of chutneys. Its a long time plan to prepare 4 chutneys for breakfast with the yummy main dish, so thought to prepare kulipaniyaram, with red, white, purple, and green chutneys.OMG, it made our breakfast more delicious. After a long time what a wonderful breakfast we had? is it mouth watery? do you want to try it? ok ok with no further delays will move on to the recipe👇

Kuli paniyaram






Ingredients 

For batter

  • Raw rice  2 cups
  • Parboiled rice  2 cups
  • Urad dhal   1/2 cup
  • Sago (optional)    1/4 cup


To temper


  • Mustard seeds  1   tsp
  • Shallots finely chopped    20
  • Green chili deseeded and finely chopped    6
  • Coconut grated (optional)    1 cup
  • Salt oil      as needed



Batter preparation


  1. Soak dal and rice together in water for 2 hrs.
  2. Drain it.
  3. Grind it using 1 cup of water a little at a time to a smooth batter.
  4. Add salt to taste, beat well.
  5. Leave overnight to ferment.


Next day

  1. Soak sago for an hour in 1/4 cup of water(optional).
  2. Drain, add to batter.
  3. Heat oil pan adds mustard seeds. allow it to pop up then add shallots and chillis saute.
  4. Add to batter, add coconut mix it.
  5. Place  a kuli paniyaram pan pour 1/2 tsp of oil in each mold.
  6. Heat it drop a tbsp of batter into each mould.cook on one side.
  7. After few mins gently turnover each paniyaram by using a skewer.
  8. Cook until it is roasted on both sides
  9. Repeat the process.


Serve it with chutneys as a tea time snack, or breakfast or dinner .will post the recipes of chutneys one by one.
